I’m only 14 and I dream of becoming a handbag Designer with status up there with Coach and Louis Vuitton etc. I’ve been doing some sketches lately and my friends and family say that they look really good and that I'm really talented. I was looking into going to a fashion school after high school to get my handbag business off the ground (I already have the name for it). I was telling my mother about this and she stated that I don't have to wait until fashion school and that my Designer handbag business could get big while I'm in high school. (Just like that 15-year-old girl, Kira Plastininia, who has a fashion empire). I was wondering should I wait until fashion school or get started now and see if I really have what it takes to be a top-notch handbag Designer?
Start creating your own bags. Do you know how to sew? If not, get started now. After creating a prototype, you can improve on it from there. If possible, find a part-time job as a sales clerk at a department store working in the handbag department. The more you exposed to this industry, the better and more knowledgable you’re.
I would suggest attending a top-notch fashion design school so that you’ll learn all aspects of the fashion industry and not just mere design (you will know the business side too). Plus, it looks really impressive on your resume once you find a design house you want to work for.
second, first you’ve to decide which is more important, possibly being a Designer, or a good education.
If not then go to fashion school
