The genuine ones will usually have a really nice tag that's usually embroidered onto the bag with the Designer label on it. The fakes will have those T-shirt like tags that might say “made in China” (just an example).

You should also examine the stitching; Designer bags have nearly perfect stitching while fakes might have a few threads coming out.

Don't forget to check if there's a serial number (in some cases they do).
